MY joy has always been swapping "war stories" with rail crews. Just MY thing I s'pose ... that and "lemme sit down and take IN this "work environment" and go silently crazy in gratitude that the OLD cars would keep us awake, THIS bad boy is just TOO La-Z-Boy. :)One of the BIGGEST shocks to my values was when Kawasaki was still in possession of the first 8 cars of R-143's and I got a chance to RUN them because MTA has not yet "taken possession" and thus if I wrecked, Kawasaki would have been out for 8101-8109. *I* ran the cars a couple of WEEKS before Paturkey did his photo-op in MY train before "acceptance" by MTA. I *still* get "tight in the pants" over that. CRISPNESS, 2001. Heh. But yeah, unlije *US*, the foamers can step off the car and go ride another anytime they get bored. For US, the ride ain't over until we "book off." For ME though, I prefer the PEOPLE to the "car" ... I don't GIVE a rat's ass about the rivet-count, don't CARE about the car number unless I gotta write its miserable ass up - ALL I ever cared about was "booking off" and that's something "foamers" just don't get. It AIN'T the steel, it's ALL about the PEOPLE. :( |
