MetroNorth identifies ATC as part of cab signals. I modify and repair the ATC pick-up units will a full understanding of the system but did not receive ATC certification because I am not an 'electrician.' ATC on M7s is the lowest part of a EMU second only to the snow shield and is struck by everything on the trax damaging the Faraday shield which isolates the two pick-up coils from the tractionmotors. My work was just handed over to a subcontractor to be done by laborers after I trained a few guys how to do the work per MNCR requirements. They can have it! RRCI Peter |
