You know why? Because both teams and their stadiums are served by routes of the New York City SUBWAY (keyword: SUBWAY). Subway or not, they are part of the subway system. "Elevated Series"? Are you kidding me? Subway Series is as correct in every way, shape, and form as can be. Most people are not railfans.
