We do it opposite for dynamic testing of MNCR M7s on LIRR trackage. The world runs 'under-rail.' Subways and LIRR run over-rail. To run a P32ac on MNCR requires a mechanical adaptor on the shoe beam and a specific under-rail contact shoe...you cannot put a shoe upside down because undershoe uses a different shoe tension mechanism and shoe. Once contact shoe adaptor is installed, the adjustment with a shoe beam gauge is minor. Of course, what you cannot do is make the temporary moification in shop and move it back out on third rail overshoe.....OUCH! MNCR M7s are towed into Arch Street sans shoes. RRCI Peter
