Again, I don't know how fast the LIRR goes between stations on the various lines, but again, is that something that really matters in the wear and tear? I would assume the amount of use and distance, as well as frequent stops and starts amount more to the deterioration than allowing the cars to "spread their wings".The mechanicals are what matter since spare parts have to exist/fit. Yes, and parts have got to be harder to get the older the cars get. |
