"For Budd they sold their rail business while order book was full with M3's for LIRR and M3a for MNCR they were building the Baltimore subway cars and the Miami Metro cars."They shut down their railcar business because they saw the end coming. Once those orders were filled that was it; end of the line. They didn't care to invest any more in a low-margin business, one that Bombardier and Kawasaki and Siemens and Alstom would dominate. So tyhey focused on their core - which automobile parts. |
