The Mets were playing the Phillies and Ken Singleton hit a mammoth home run completely out of The Toilet Bowl, over the back fence in right field and presumably out to Roosevelt Ave. Yes, Singleton was a Met in '71 and was involved in the trade that brought Rusty Staub to New York - the first time.Just to keep this on topic, I saw the Mets in person the previous day during Batting Helmet Day and took the 7. I still have the helmet. |
