Darius McCollum may certainly have the ability to operate a train safely and he has done so, but he is not authorized to operate a train. It could be likened to someone who knows who to fly an airplane but he doesn't have a pilot's license and certainly not the proper training and the person goes into the cockpit of a Boeing 747 jumbo jet and flies it for the thrill of flying a great big passenger jet airliner. The person might be able to fly it safely, but he could be endangering others since he might not be aware of what to do in case of an emergency. The same apllies for Darius McCollum operting a subway train. He might know all of the signals and the radio code, but if there is an emergency, he has no training about what to do in the event of an emergency. To conclude this, it is a serious hazard when an unauthorized person goes into a motorman's cab to operate a subway train or any other type of equipment where proper training and experience is required.
