I'm going to keep mentioning that BART was able to enjoy low crime rates back when it had the clamshell gates for its first 50 years of service, a period that is often referred to as the "high crime era".I wasn't a huge fan of NYPD rules enforcement up through the 2010's, but I feel we should have more options than "arrest fare evaders and photographers" and "arrest nobody". Arresting fare evaders would be like shooting fish in a barrel on today's NYCT Subway. |
