I read that the R-32s, although an eyecather with their bright, fluted stainless steel skin, were not well received at first. Because platform lengthening on the Brighton line was just getting started, they could only run in eight-car trains and were no match for the crowd-swallowing talent of the Triplexes. And far fewer seats than the Triplexes. |
