The Tuscarora Book of Forgotten Stations No. 22 – Park Avenue Station Brooklyn, New York Brooklyn Elevated Railroad Company Park Avenue was a station on what is today’s Broadway-Brooklyn Line. It was located between Flushing Avenue and Myrtle Avenue stations. Service began on July 14, 1888 and ended on June 5, 1916. It was a simple two track station with a single island platform. The construction of a connection between the Myrtle Avenue Line and the Broadway Line necessitated moving the platforms of the Myrtle Avenue station westwards. The new platforms were too close to the Park Avenue station so, it was closed. Source: ERA New York Division Bulletin, June 1997, article by Mr. Bernard Linder Larry, RedbirdR33 |
