The R-14 order was for 150 cars, 5803-5952, built by the American Car & Foundry Company. 1958 – from The Book of Wrecks There was a head on collision between two passenger trains on the Mainline of the Erie Railroad near Sloatsburg, New York. Westbound train No.53 (Hoboken to Port Jervis) headed up by EMD GP-7 1402 collided with eastbound No. 50 (Monroe to Hoboken) under the control of Alco PA-1 859.
