Probably a simpler solution construction-wise and that was the original intent. However, from an operational standpoint, you'd haveva trunk feeding 4 branches where to maintain a reasonable level of service on any one branch, the trunk would be over-served. Of course, you could eliminate the C train from south of Chambers St. but that would still leave the 8th Ave corridor, over-served. |
