It also marked the end of the line for the flock of Blue Geese, Chicago's prewar PCC fleet. All were scrapped except 4021, on static display at the Illinois Railway Museum and sporting its original 1936 livery. Only two streetcar routes remained in the Windy City after this date: 22 Clark-Wentworth in its entirety and the northern half of 36 Broadway-State. Both were served by two-man Green Hornets, with weekend bustitution. |
