Posted by irtredbirdr33 on Wed Jun 10 08:43:20 2026 Tuscarora Almanac for June 10 1948 – from The Book of Last Runs This is the last day of streetcar service in Norfolk, Virginia. Note: Light rail service would return to Norfolk when the Tide Light Rail Line opened on August 19, 2011. 1961 – from The Book of First Runs BMT Standard 2328 was destroyed by fire in the Coney Island Yard. Her running mates 2327 and 2329 are coupled together to form a two car set and will be used in work service. (I believe that this two car set used to hang out on the lower level of 9th Avenue station. Is my memory correct?) 1996 – from The Book of First Runs New Jersey Transit begins service on the "Midtown Direct" connection which provides for through service between the Morris and Essex Lines of the former Lackawanna Railroad and Pennsylvania Station in New York City. The first train was No. 6604 which left from Dover, NJ at 5:34 AM. The consist was (e) 4418-5687-5752-5753-5139. Larry, RedbirdR33 |
