Major rehablitation has begun on light rail trackage along West Colfax Avenue and the loop in downtown Denver. (There's only one Loop, and that's in Chicago.:) No one refers to the light rail loop in Denver as The Loop.). The following adjustments to services have been implemented until this project is completed:The D, H and L lines have been suspended. Passengers from Aurora going downtown will have to take an R train to Bellview and change to an E or T train. I would have run the T to Florida Ave., where H trains terminate, instead of Lincoln. The C line, suspended since the pandemic, has been resurrected. It makes sense, since its service pattern has always been Littleton-Mineral to Union Station. Up until now, they just rerouted D trains to Union Station if the downtown loop was temporarily out of service. The R line is being extended from Lincoln Ave. to Ridgegate Parkway. A temporary T line has been implemented. It runs from Lincoln Ave. to I-25/Broadway. There was a J service pattern, between Nine Mile and Union Station, that was planned when the Southeast Corridor opened, but was never implemented. I can see why they didn't brush it off now. There are already three lines in and out of Union Station. B and G line service has been increased. |
