In hindsight, they should have kept the connections to the Culver line from 4th/9th Avenue although they likely would have had to northbound build a new track that spun off from the new passageway to the (F) south of Ditmas and have such trains come in on a new upper level of Ditmas before crossing from above and then joining what became the Culver Shuttle line railroad north of the Ditmas station as I would do now in a rebuild with coming from south of Ditmas in on what would now be a rebuilt shuttle track that would connect with the main line south of Ditmas (though again, in a rebuild now going to Manhattan on the upper level of two levels of single track).Of course, that part of the Culver line would then have likely had to be fully rebuilt during the 1960's and early '70s at a time when money was drying up. |
