Posted by gbs on Fri May 1 19:50:23 2026, in response to Tuscarora Almanac for May 1, posted by irtredbirdr33 on Fri May 1 08:36:11 2026. 1920 - The elevated structure on McDonald Avenue is extended from Avenue X to West 8 Street I thought that the reason the elevated structure there was lattice structure instead of "modern" solid beam construction was because it was very old and pre-dated the subway. If it was indeed built in 1920, why does it have that type of construction, very rare for NYC elevated lines?
