As I recall, the color used by the New Haven was called "China red".The locomotive in the picture looks a little more red than I remember the FL9s and EP5s being; but from the MBTA locomotive to the color picture to the net to my screen to my memory is a long way :-) The stripes on the cars always seemed a little more red to me than the color on the locomotives; but they were set against either black or stainless steel, which no doubt affected how they looked. Will thus be the new "what color is the dress?" |
