Every mayor has taken the oath of office privately after midnight and then publicly during the day. The public ceremony, as I’ve mentioned over on OTChat, is fake and for the benefit of cameras and for people who complain about the stupidest shit.The term of the NYC mayor begins at midnight, unlike POTUS whose term begins at noon. |
