Because computing is so 'easy' to implement, very detailed marketing is easy to deploy. You are probably aware that online vendors with access to your buying habits can 'adjust' prices you are offered for merch. It is thus 'easy' for MTA to implement the capping feature despite the complexity. While less onerous than simply hiking fares, I prefer a lower (or zero) fare increase w/o all of the bells and whistles. |
