AFAIK that 1955 collision is the only known instance that involved the Triplexes. 6045C's front end was smashed in while 6078A and B sustained even more damage. Those three sections were scrapped, then 6078C was grafted to 6045B and renumbered 6045C. It remained in service until their premature withdrawal. |
