Tuscarora Marine Log No 23 Staten Island Ferry Update 2025 The ferryboat SANDY GROUND returned to service on April 30, 2025. She had suffered a serious engine room fire on December 22, 2022 and was sent back to the shipyard for repairs. The current state of the fleet is as follows: Barberi Class : The ANDREW J BARERI has been retired. She was stripped of spare parts so that her sister ship, SAMUEL I NEWHOUSE can remain in service. Molinari Class : All the vessels of this class are in service; GUY V MOLINARI, SEN JOHN J MARCHI and SPIRIT OF AMERICA. Ollis Class: These are the newest vessels; SSG MICHEAL H OLLIS, SANDY GROUND and DORTOHY DAY. Two other vessel comprise the municipal fleet. MICHEAL GOSGROVE operates on the Hart Island Ferry. AMERICAN LEGION (III) is not a ferry but a general purpose utility boat. Larry, RedbirdR33 |
