Posted by irtredbirdr33 on Thu Dec 18 05:59:07 2025 Tuscarora Almanac for December 18 1930 – from The Book of First Runs Electric train service on the Lackawanna’s Morristown Line is extended from South Orange to Morristown, New Jersey. 1954 – from The Book of Last Runs This is the last day for streetcar service in Scranton, Pennsylvania. 1967 – from The Book of First Runs A limited free transfer point is opened 5th Avenue station of the IRT Flushing Line and the 42nd Street station of the IND 6th Avenue Line. Paper transfers are issued from 5 AM to 12 noon from the IND to the IRT. Transfers from the IRT to the IND are issued from 12 noon to 8 PM. A connecting passageway between the two stations is opened on August 31, 1971 eliminating the part time paper transfer. 2017- from The Book of First Runs A free transfer point is opened between the Chambers Street -World Trade Center station on the IND Eighth Avenue Line (E train platform) and the Cortlandt Street station of the BMT Broadway Line (R,W(also N nights).
