I think they want it to feel special and totally different from the subway system.There was a NIMBY meeting at Christ the King in Middle Village last month. They talked about why they ghink IBX is a fantasy. They mentioned the fact that the section of track between Fresh Pond Yard and the section north isn't even owned by the MTA. It's owned by CSX. Also said there is a high rise under construction at Roosevelt Avenue and it would take a feat of engineering to squeeze IBX in between. |
