You'd never guess those R-17s were originally decked out in maroon. The World's Fair opened in April 1964.There were not enough of the Bluebirds to cover the service. Several Redbird train sets were sent over from the mainline to help out. Along with them went a number of R-17's to make up the eleventh car. Once they were run through the car wash at Corona Yard we had a chance to see their proper color. Larry, RedbirdR33 |
