The article you linked postulated a $38 fare. Presuming that's true, it works out to 27¢ per mile, the same as the off-peak one-way fare between GCT and Poughkeepsie. There is also average speed to consider; 43 mph average speed (about the same as the fastest GCT-Poughkeepsie trips FWICS) gets you a 3¼-hour one-way trip.

And of course, this restores a permanent albeit extremely limited service to/from GCT.
