The snowstorm phot on the Rockaway Line is pre 1962. The M/M of the train is the late George J. Abere Jr who became a train dispatcher in 1962 so the photo predated that year. As for the R-4s with bullseye lighting, the other car besides 484 was 744 not 766. Both cars also were equipped with PA systems and were initially supposed to be kept together at the C/R’s position so PA announcements could be made. |
