1974 – from The Book of Last Runs

This will be the last day in passenger service of the veteran Erie Railroad "Stillwell" coaches.

For those who never have seen an Erie "Stilwell" car, this what it looked like (Hoboken Terminal - April 1981)

The NYW&B electrified coaches were of a similar Stilwell design. Note that the Erie coaches had their curved window tops covered over when remodeled.
Fun fact, the BMT Standards (AB's) 2000 - 2499 were also designed by L.B. Stillwell. Was Stillwell Terminal named after him ?
