When I lived in Woodhaven, I'd sometimes take the J train into Manhattan. The most rickety swaying El section was the stretch between Alabama Ave and Crescent St. When those heavy R27/30s would come too a hard stop at one of those stations, the sway was scary noticeable. I often wondered how the structure stayed up. |
