I remember riding the LL across Brooklyn on R7-R9 cars to reach a job site in East NY on Snediker Ave. next to the Atlantic Avenue station. On at least one occasion I got to ride on car 1575 which was the prototype for the R10 cars but was mechanically an R7A. This trip was an adventure in those days. I made it a point to ride in the center of the train where the conductor was positioned. The L line today remains a distinctive line.
