Another thing to consider about Florida, where do you think Florida civil servants go when they retire? One would assume, if they are retired and already living in Florida, naturally they will just stay. Why would anyone leave Florida when retiring? But many do. And if they stay, they tend to move from major Metropolitan areas like Miami-Ft. Lauderdale, or Tampa-St.Pete, all the way to the panhandle. But many leave the state. Certain things about Florida are fascinating. Like the number of tanning salons in shopping centers around the state, but especially Tampa and Miami. Or how people seem to hate the heat. Meteorologists on all the major network news affiliates and radio stations complain about the heat, often citing the streak of 90 degree days and are elated when they can announce cooler weather is on the way. Odd. One would just assume a streak of many consecutive days of 90 degree weather would not be a grievance or newsworthy but apparently it is. |
