Back in the day, the E trains had different marker light combos for all 5 south terminals (H.T., Euclid, Lefferts. R.P. and F.R.); the C trains (Euclid vs. R.P.) and even after that the northbound B with 168 vs. 57/6.

Some passengers, especially old time rail fans certainly had it figured out.
