Yes, I did mean NIMBY - that NIMBY crowd cannot see their own hand in front of their face from half an inch away due to the hardness of their heads, but that is how they are. When the AirTrain was being built there was yelling and screaming about the noise from construction, traffic jams, and on and on - the Port Authority built in the middle of the Van Wyck expressway and turned a deaf ear to those complainers. Now we have the finished product, although the ROW of the abandoned LIRR Rockaway line should have been utilized - but it is what it is. |
