Yes. Hourly. NJT has two issues, one that an NJT engineer makes about 2/3 of a Metro North engineer hourly. The other that NJT engineers have historically been paid 10% above NJT conductors, and the railroad's offer would have discontinued this practice.
I have not heard anything about benefits or work rules, though the PEB did suggest the union trade work rules for more salary. I'd rather have the work rules. What's to keep the railroad from starting with a lowball offer the next time? And the work rule is gone forever.
