In light of that, remember that Amtrak's F40PHs were retired after 2001 (after starting retirements in 1991, with subsequent "cabbage" conversions), but VIA Rail still has their F40PHs going even today as do the commuter railroads that bought them in the 1980s.Completely off topic, but I noticed that Amtrak California still runs former NJDOT/NJT Arrow I/Comet IB cars on the San Joaquins route, with a former F40PH NPCU on one end. |
