Slight correction.
The First R type cars were the R17s for the IRT
Mainline Number 6 Lexington Ave Pelham line.
The Next sets were the R21 for the Broadway 7th Avenue local,then the Dyre Ave Broadway 7th avenue Express.

The R26/28/29. and 33s came later 1959,60,61,62,63.
R36s/36wf came 63 and 64.
