The real deal with that in my experience, Motormen/Train operators rarely overshoot station platforms. I've been a subway rider for about 30 years when I lived in the area and I was on only one train that overshot a platform. It was a TS bound #7 that overshot Rawson St by about a half a car length. The MM was a trainee and they opened the doors with the instructor protecting the first set of doors that opened up on to Queens Blvd.My guess that the rarity of that type of situation is not a worrisome priority in subway operations these days |
