The Franklin Square Station on the PATCO line would reopen in 1976 but close again in '79 as the area was not nearly as residential at that time east and north of Chinatown.The station is currently in the final phases of a $30 Million rebuild and is slated to reopen later this year as the area surrounding the station is much more residential than in years past. It will allow those in Northern Liberties in particular to be able to ride over to Center City (Locust at 9th-10th, 12th-13th or 15th-16th) as well as to Camden (and other points in South Jersey) they have not had with the area as it is now until this. |
