To my knowledge, the only "abnormal" station openings were Silver Line Phase 1 (noon on a Saturday), Silver Line Phase 2 (the most asinine of them all, 2 PM on a Tuesday), Potomac Yard (on a Friday), and the opening of the Blue Line from Stadium-Armory to National Airport on 7/1/1977 (also a Friday). Prior to that, openings were typically whenever the system opened on a Saturday or Monday morning. |
