Re: Tuscarora Almanac for April 22

Here's another entry for the Book of First Runs for this date.

Denver, Colorado
Regional Transportation District
April 22, 2016

Denver's first commuter rail line, the University of Colorado A Line, a 22-mile line from Union Station to Denver International Airport, opened today.

Schedules touted a 37-minute ride from end to end, and on one of the runs I was on, it lived up to that claim. Trains normally arrive on Track 1 at Union Station, and the platform is long enough to berth at least an eight-car train, although standard length is four cars. The airport station has an island platform and can also berth eight-car trains. All other stations have side platforms and can berth four-car trains. Most of the line is double-tracked; however, there are two stretches of single track. One of these is the long flyover over Airport Blvd. and I-70 and the other is from just north of the 61st Ave. station to just before the bridge over Peņa Blvd. This latter stretch is graded for two tracks and all bridges have room for a second track.
