Re: FOX5 news: Should the LIRR reopen its Elmhurst, Queens station?

i do remember watching that neighborhood turn into a higher density neighborhood. many single and two family houses getting torn down, many apartment buildings being stuck in every open area. in about a decade the whole place got crowded. broadway especially.

this was strange to my brooklyn soul. most brooklyn streets and neighborhoods, once built, stay the way they are. queens is weird.

but yeah, re-open elmhurst station. never boarded there much, once or twice between elmhurst and flushing, a few times elmhurst to woodside. sucks that it's the port washington branch.

but i do have that weakness of really liking taking commuter trains from in-city commuter line railroad stations to other in-city commuter line railroad stations within mid-city areas that are not huge rush hour destinations and that are also served by subway lines.

okay, i admit it's a pretty specific weakness.
