I lived along the Brighton line growing up in the 60s and saw the R32s as they came out. We would watch the trains go buy at Lincoln Road past the interlocking and wait for the new train to go by, and it could be a long wait. R27s would be on the local and Triplexes on the express. I was only 9 at the time.I still live along the Brighton line and kick myself for not attending this. Before they retired I said here they should make a run on every line they ever appeared on, and that would be most of them. But the Q was the first and the last. I like how the banner says "LAST of the 600 New Brightliners". The original said "First". |
