Making Franklin Ave. the express station would also have been better because it

- would provide a transfer between the express and the Franklin Ave. Shuttle, and
- would result in more even spacing of express stations (every third station between Hoyt-Schermerhorn and Broadway Junction).

Of course, the first point might not have been regarded as a positive one by the IND's builders.
