Posted by irtredbirdr33 on Sat Dec 3 12:34:10 2022 Tuscarora Marine Almanac – December 3, 1986 – The Book of First Runs Port Imperial, Weehawken, New Jersey Port Imperial Ferry Corporation Ferry service across the Hudson River resumes for the first time since 1967. The Port Imperial Ferry Corporation operating under the New York Waterway banner begins running a single boat between Port Imperial in Weehawken and Pier 38 (West 38th Street) in Manhattan. The vessel is known as the PORT IMPERIAL. She was built in 1986 by Blount Boats in Warren, Rhode Island. Later she was renamed WEEHAWKEN. She has been out of documentation since 2005.
