Then to add insult to injury, Michigan St. was closed to all vehicular traffic and made into a mall, with autos being rerouted via St. Joseph St. All it managed to do was kill business downtown. They did away with the mall concept years ago and Michigan St. is once again open to traffic, but it's no longer the main artery through downtown. Traffic still skirts around via St. Joseph and Main Sts. |
