I rode on it once, to Chicago and back, on April 1 and 2, 1967, two weeks before we left for New Jersey. You walked out onto LaSalle St. to board the train, which boarded passengers in front of the station, across from the LaSalle Hotel (now LaSalle Apartments). It was a slow, 20 mph trudge through the streets until you got to the western outskirts near Bendix. |
