They aren't allowed to bid on WMATA because of security concerns. When Mass bought the cars, they didn't take Federal funds so they could insist on the factory being in Mass. and that is where the other orders are being built as well. As far as I know, the LA cars needed to hit 65% US content value. Not a bunch I would have much faith or trust in, but like I said, I don't think a US owned company makes subway cars, and I don't have much confidence in the integrity of our large corporations either. |
