A big part of that "THUNDER" was from the old un-welded track.Consider the sections of rail were 39' long and staggered, so every 19 and 1/2 feet there was a joint. BOOM, BOOM! Both upper and lower tunnels were two tracks wide, so closer to station platforms. BOOM, BOOM! Yes, they ROARED! |
