Posted by gbs on Tue May 10 22:20:25 2022 The recent thread about the Culver shuttle's last day included this: The R-27/30’s ... were the last cars to carry BMT-Type third rail shoes I assume those shoes were retro-fitted onto those cars specifically to run on the Culver shuttle and that they were originally delivered with only "subway"-type third rail shoes. Which were the last cars to be delivered with BMT-type third rail shoes? Did they also include subway-type shoes so they could run on both types of track? What about on the IRT? I'm also assuming that the original IND R1/9s came with only subway-type shoes. |
